(don’t worry- it’s quick and easy)
Throughout the year, we listen to members and respond to needs and requests for help with events, publicity, infrastructure improvements, and more. We also survey members regularly and ask for feedback or assistance with campaigns, major events, and important policies that need support at the city or borough level. If you’re a member of the Downtown Association- you’ll see downtown improvements at work from the inside out.
New members will find a full list of benefits on our website. We often deliver added services and opportunities throughout the year as we brainstorm and build the scope of our project and policy work.
Renewing members will notice a few changes to Downtown Association membership this year.
Membership dues and categories have changed and now include “Sole Proprietor,” “Small Business,” “Large Business,” and “Property Owner.” We’ve also discontinued joint membership with the Fairbanks Convention & Visitors Bureau to streamline renewal.
You’ll also notice new benefits and advertising opportunities mixed into 2012 membership. New benefits include a guest appearance on The Downtowner radio show, listings in a vacancy space database, a free trial booth at the 2012 Downtown Market, and priority consideration for spring familiarity tours.
New advertising opportunities include a collaborative ad with the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner to help make advertising more affordable for small businesses by negotiating with the Downtown Association’s nonprofit rate. We’re also offering affordable advertising through our website, the Downtown Market, The Downtowner newsletter, and in the 2012 Downtown Guide (available until February).
We’re excited to launch into 2012 with the 125+ member businesses that supported downtown last year, and any newcomers who would like to be more involved with generating urban renewal in the heart of Alaska.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me or any other employee at the Downtown Association of Fairbanks with comments or questions, and thank you for joining us in this important work!
Here’s to 2012!
