Come downtown and witness the start of the 2010 Yukon Quest on Saturday, February 6th at 11:00 AM. The race will start on the Chena River near the Cushman Bridge in front of the log cabin, the Alaska Race Headquarters, at 550 1st Avenue.
There are 24 mushers signed up for this epic, tough as nails race, and we Alaskans want to be there showing our support and cheering for the mushers and their fantastic dogs.
This extraordinary winter sports event occurs every February and covers the ground between Fairbanks and Whitehorse. The 1,000 mile trail was originally blazed during the turn of the century gold rush era.
Pre-Quest pancake feed on February 6th from 8AM until 10AM at the Elk’s Lodge. See the beginning of this peerless race up close and personal Downtown this Saturday.
