2010 Midnight Sun Festival Date Changes to Sunday, June 20th

We are on track to make this the biggest and best Midnight Sun Festival ever! Because of the overwhelming response to early registration, and the great success of last year’s festival (which was held on a Sunday), the Downtown Association’s Board of Directors recently decided to MOVE THE 2010 MIDNIGHT SUN FESTIVAL FROM MONDAY, JUNE 21 TO SUNDAY, JUNE 20.
This would allow us to do the following things:
- Capitalize on the high interest in the festival and continue expanding in a considered and strategic way.
- Permit us to utilize more downtown spaces -because it will be held on a non-work day.
- Draw more festival participants from farther distances around Alaska.
- Draw more festival participants earlier in the day -thus spreading out the traffic flow and allowing an optimum experience for both vendors and participants.
We are proud to host the Midnight Sun Festival in Fairbanks, our quintessentially Alaska event. Booths are filling guickly and we reccomend if you are still waiting to be a particiapant in Midnight Sun Festival 2010 that you make sure and fill out this year’s application as soon as possible!
